Ninety-six bills have been considered in 38 states so far this legislative session, according to an updated “State Transportation Funding Monthly Report” released by the Transportation Investment Advocacy Center™. Nine bills have been approved so far in as many states for over $4 billion in funding, covering topics including tolls, one-time general fund transfers, bonds, local funding, and more.

Four states will ask residents to consider transportation funding-related measures on the Nov. 8 ballot. Currently there are over 18 local measures coming up in 2016, with many more anticipated before the general election.

As the year progresses, TIAC staff expects more states to consider transportation funding legislation.
