Local Funding: Decatur, Illinois city council members voted Feb. 18 to approve a 5 cents-per-gallon gas tax in order to solely fund residential street and road projects. The gas tax, in addition to a 1 cent-per-gallon diesel tax, is expected to generate between $1.25 million to $1.5 million annually in new revenue, and will expire in 10 years. Read More.
