The American Road & Transportation Builders Association’s (ARTBA) third annual LoTrans™ 2014, the Local Transportation Management & Safety Virtual Conference, kicks off December 10 at 11:30am ET with a live presentation on state and local and transportation funding trends and a 2015 forecast delivered by Dr. Alison Premo Black, the association’s chief economist.  Dr. Black will also discuss the latest crisis with the federal Highway Trust Fund and outlook for the reauthorization of MAP-21.

The event, which is free, runs from 11:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., EST, and is accessible from your desktop or laptop computer.

Sessions on asset management, best practices in maintaining unpaved roads, snow removal, flagging on low volume roads, temporary traffic control measures on gravel roads, and encore presentations on road work zone safety issues are also on the agenda.

LoTrans™ was organized with the leadership, counsel and support of ARTBA’s Transportation Officials Division (TOD), which includes city, county, state and federal officials from across the nation.  It is being supported by the National Association of County Engineers, the National Local Technical Assistance Program Association, and the National Work Zone Safety Information Clearinghouse.
