In a short video produced by the American Association of State and Highway Transportation Officials, New Hampshire Department of Transportation Commissioner Christopher Clement discusses the movement that lead to a recent, landmark decision to increase the state’s gas tax. The legislation, which passed in May, will increase the gasoline tax by 4.2 cents per-gallon beginning July 1 of this year, and is expected to raise $32 million in revenue for the New Hampshire Department of Transportation. This is the first state gas tax increase within New Hampshire in over 20 years.
